There were so many brilliant images for me to judge in this contest but in the end picking number 1 came down to which image I would most like to have hanging on my walls to look at every day. This is the one. The soft hazy feel of mystery, the glow of the lights and their reflection on the wet roadway, the dominant lions that seem to be looking right at me, Wow. This is a perfectly framed composition, with just enough light remaining in the sky to keep the lights from overwhelming the subject matter. Brilliant, thanks for entering and congratulations!

This image really grabbed me with it's diagonal lines and wonderful curves. There is so much to look at and yet the eye is always drawn back to the curved support structure. Wonderfully processed with crisp details. Certainly a winner in my book. Congratulations!

This is a really interesting composition. The bridge is not only the subject of the image (perfectly exposed I might add), but also as a framing device for and leading line in to the city skyline. Wonderful photo that fits the competition well. Thanks for entering.

There were quite a few entries that had Tower Bridge as the subject, this was my personal favorite. I think that the blending of the lit bridge with the blue hour sky adds to the beauty and originality of the shot. Using shots from a variety of light levels is a process that when done properly like this, creates truly one of a kind images. The colors in the sky and on the horizon compliment the various colors of lighting on the bridge wonderfully. This is a keeper and truly a portfolio piece. Congratulations!

I wanted to congratulate you on this very creative and original image of the Brooklyn Bridge. Using the out of focus bokeh to represent the shape of this highly recognizable structure was truly a stroke of genius in my opinion. An artistic representation at its best.

This is probably the best image of the iconic Bixby Bridge I have ever seen. The sky is perfect and the light trails being the major illumination of the bridge are brilliant. You have perfectly captured the location at a time that is rarely photographed. Congratulations!

This was a fantastic image in my opinion. Photographing a lit bridge does not require showing the whole structure or a roadway shot. The dramatic contrast between the shadows and highlights, along with the amazing composition make this image stand above the crowd. Well done and congratulations!

I loved this image of Westminster Bridge. The high contrast, long exposure grittiness of the scene truly captures the feel of nighttime on this location. The light trails of the vehicles are perfectly balanced with their reflections on the wet roadway and the bridge railing. Fantastic monochrome image, congratulations.

I really was quite taken with this image. Such a dramatic shot using the light of the setting sun to illuminate these London monuments. Rich in tone, drama and details, a really original image. Thanks for entering and sharing your vision. Congratulations!

Such a creative image, congratulations. One of the things I said when I put together the idea of this contest was that I didn't care how the bridge was lit as long as it was illuminated. This image maximizes the use of ambient light to illuminate the aqueduct beautifully. The star trails and the use of such a wide angle lens only adds to the drama and beauty of the image. A lot of work went into this image and it is well worth the time and effort. Great job.

This is another example of how dramatic an image can be made by using the blue hour skies ambient light along with the lights of an evening shot to bring out the drama and details of an architectural photograph. The fountain is a very difficult thing to get in the shot without it distracting from the central subject but you have placed it perfectly in my opinion. The presence of the modern architectural "Shard" wonderfully offsets the classical bridge. Well done!

I would like to see your best photos of bridges which are beautifully lit up at night. The bridge can be large or small, and can be illuminated by lighting on the bridge, indirect lighting, or even moonlight. All photos should show a bridge lit at night. Entries can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your creativity.
