Thank you for entering your photograph “Burnt moorland”. Along with the darken sky the burnt moorland looks like another planet, such a somber looking place, captured wonderfully in your photograph. Hopefully in years to come this place will look completely different with life coming back to the area. Congratulations on your top ten finish, best wishes Phil.

Thank you to everyone who entered this contest, even though it was a photograph contest it was still sad seeing so much destruction resulting in loss by fire.

My first place vote goes to this photograph showing the aftermath of a building fire. The lighting is what makes this scene for me, its subtle enough to show the detail of the devastation caused by the fire but not overpowering. Great camera placement for the shot. Congratulations on getting my vote for first place. Best wishes Phil.

Thank you for entering your photograph “Seven ages of matches”. I thought this was cleverly done, the background switch of black and white matching the burnt out matches is worthy of a top ten finish. Congratulations and best wishes Phil.

Thank you for entering your photograph “After the blaze”. There were a few burnt out properties entered. The feeling what has happened to these places bring out much sorrow, someone’s home and belongings gone. But looking at these as a subject matter I particularly liked this house as it is still intact with the roof and amazingly the trees don’t seem to have been effected, amazing really considering the damage done. Congratulations on your top ten finish, best wishes Phil.

Thank you for entering your photograph “Sutton Forest” it is amazing how some trees in the middle of a forest fire seem to mysteriously avoid the flames. It makes for an interesting photograph. Gives hope to a quick recovery of the area. Congratulations on your top ten finish. Best wishes Phil.

Thank you for entering your photograph “On recovery path” Nature has a way of rebounding from fires, even though these plants have been burnt they are still alive and start the circle of life all over again. Australia has suffered greatly from the wild fires, not only people but animals and plant life has been greatly effected but it brings hope seeing these plants still growing, hope for all. Congratulations on your top ten finish, best wishes Phil.
