A simple but effective compositionm putting the button as the star of the show, perfect for this contest. Care has been taken with the technical aspects of the capture, such as the composition, lighting, focusing, depth of field etc. The conversion to black and white has also been done very well, and I like the gentler tones and the way the soft light shines off the button. Congratulations on your third place finish.
Jeans were understandably a popular subject on which to display the buttons in this contest, but this was one of my favourites. The black denim suits the low key lighting, as the golden yellow of the buttons, the zipper and stitching all pop out from the image. Nicely composed, the buttons are the clear focal point of the photo. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
What a fabulous shot of textures. I love the contrast between the smooth shining surface of the button and the softer knobbly woolly texture of the fabric, both of which are captured so well they are almost touchable. Well composed, with the line of the fabric join running on a diagonal, and the button placed off-centre. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
A great still-life composition, made up of objects that all go together, rather than a random assortment of items with no relevance to buttons whatsoever. The processing stye suits the subject, and gives a rather vintage feel to the image, without being overdone or taking over from the actual subjects. By being placed in the foreground, the little collection of buttons do not become lost in the rest of the scene. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.
This simple pile of old buttons has been elevated to an attractive still-life composition due to the creative processing style applied when editing the image. This has created some beautiful tones and a soft richness to the colours. There is no obvious initial focal point, but that does not matter, as there are plenty of details for the eye to explore in this lovely composition. Congratulations on your winning image.

These vibrantly coloured buttons, neatly laid out, makes for a great abstract still-life composition - one of those classic "jigsaw puzzle" shots. Focusing is nice and sharp, and we are in close enough to see all the little details in the buttons, but far enough out to get a good number of them in the frame. Colours are bright but not overstaurated. Well done on your top ten placing.

A great macro shot of a little shirt button. By focusing in so close, we also get treated to the lovely textural details of the weave of the cloth, which would not be as noticeable to the naked eye. Composition is good, and including the point of the collar adds more interest than likely woild have been had you selected to show a button running down the straight edge on the front of the garment. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.
Certainly on-theme for this buttons contest, with the button taking centre stage in the composition. The shallow depth of field keeps the button in sharp focus, with other features such as the zip and the label still visible to give context, but not distracting. Simple but effective, with the subject filling the frame. Colours look natural with no unnecessary or gimmicky processing effects. Well done on your top ten placing.
