I love the rich, vibrant atmosphere in this landscape. There really is an evocative vibe. The backlit plants have been beautifully exposed - which is not easy when shooting into the sun (contre jour) like this. The overall composition and seeing the plants shine so beautifully in their natural environment makes for a stunning image.
Quite possibly the most intriguing interpretation of the theme. I love the sense of mystery and narrative that is evoked with the simple position of the plant, hand and the act of making a call. The colour palette is wonderful too. While technically superb, it's the creativity that shines. Good work.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 1 and 250 in this week’s <a href="https://www.photocrowd.com/photographer-community/">Leaderboard</a>.** Succulents are plants that have parts which are thickened and fleshy and well adapted to storing water and surviving in water-scarce environments. One particular family, Cactaceae (Cactus) are almost all succulents. They store water in their stems, and their true leaves have usually been lost, replaced with spines, which are highly modified leaves. There are many strange-looking and beautiful cacti and succulents, and they are very popular as houseplants. All types, whether in the wild, or on your windowsill, can be entered into this contest.
