I absolutely adore this image! The lighting is absolutely perfect and the whole scene has been constructed really well to make the viewer feel like there is a story going on outwith the frame. The knife adds the suggestion of interaction and the main scone itself just looks completely irresistible with the way the cream and jam are spilling out of it abundantly. This is what food photography is all about. I think I might have to go and make myself some scones now!

Birthdays, weddings, Christmas and all the rest, each with a traditional recipe, decorations and accompanying get together. Beautiful scene, the lighting is fantastic and just dances off the jam and berries. I love how you have used ingredients in the tart to scatter across the scene to tie everything together and make it look more natural. And the implied movement from the cake slicer coming out brings the scene to life. Great shot!
Really creative and well-executed. I love how you have presented the edited version of the image on the phone screen to really bring it to life and illuminate it. It's easy for shots like this to draw attention away from the main subject, but you've managed to keep it as the focus on the cake. Great job!
