The close-up shot puts this cake right in our face. All we need is a fork to sample this ooey-gooey goodness. The cake is well lit, emphasizing the strawberries along the edge. The eye is drawn to the front middle berry that we can almost see slipping over the edge in the warm waterfall of chocolate. The shine on the chocolate does not overwhelm the photo., and the background blur makes the foreground pop.
I love the feeling I get when looking at this photo. The cake is prominent, subtly lit by the candles. The rustic layering adds extra interest through the textures in the bread and frosting, as well as the sprinkling of sugar on top. The blue candles contrasted against the brown cake is very pleasing to the eye. In the background is a big smile that is blurred just enough to keep the cake in focus without losing sight of who it is for. Great capture! Congratulations to the photographer of this winning photo!

Well done to the photographer for conveying the atmosphere of "60 wonderful years." The angle of the photo provides an added interest that could have been lost by shooting from another position. Also, the softness of the photo conveys a long lasting relationship that has mellowed over time, which gels completely with the occasion the cake represents.
