Great contest!

Highly evocative and with a great sense of camaraderie amongst competitors. It makes me aware of both the humanity in the photo, and also the technical challenges that we no longer face.. and also of the long stretches of boredom etween intense sctivity.

I'd listen to his instructions... I don't really know what else to say, apart from this picture immediately grabbing my attention through both its' intensity and dynamic range. I just like it, but such is art... and a beautiful camera too..

It's that thrill you get waiting... will it be a good one...? That could well be me in the pic... I love that moment. I certainly helps to live in a beautiful part of the world. Again, sorry I clicked on the way too subjective Judge only button - first time error...

I also wouldn't get out from under the canopy, but don't you wish you'd also been part of that scene..? that's the moment when you'd kick yourself forever if you didn't have your camera with you, and i just love the trepidation on the face of the cameraman, but he had to try...

How close we are. Self recognition is something only the higher order of mammals share... I can't speak to the composition or focus - I'm no expert - but I can only imagine that both photographers will treasure the moment for the rest of their lives. As for the subject? He or she will certainly remember it...

I thought this pic to be a gritty and realistic interpretation of someone who is just trying to take a good photo of an unknown scene... I realize it is repeated millions of times a day throughout the world, but it just grabbed my attention - I'm not an art critic...

Technically excellent, and almost impossible to reproduce without CGI, I found it to be evocative of the digital camera era. An image of the sensor, an image of the reflections of the surroundings, or both? In any event, I appreciated it.

Out of all the photos submitted, this one gave me the happiest instantaneous feeling, and surely that's what the power of an image is about - feeling. To everyone else, I'm very sorry, but because this is the first time I've done this, i clicked on the wrong tab and made it Judge only, which is far too subjective in my view...

It's a lot easier than it used to be... Today, we walk around with a cell phone. Back in the day, you had to be committed. I thought this was a lovely pic of a then isolatory hobby/profession.. Thank you.

i thought this was a wonderful representation of cameras that had possibly captured some of the most amazing moments, and although still loved, will never be used again... The amount of time, skill and care that went into the contents of this picture moved me...
