Normally I'm not too impressed by photos taken in Myanmar during photo workshops or organized photo trips that employ the monks as models that pose in the pagodas set up for the occasion.
However, this photograph immediately impressed me with your ability to manage light and high ISO. The composition is wonderful and the shapes of the novices' bodies are strongly linked to the context.
This photograph came second only because the winner has taken in a real street situation. Only for this. For me this wins the first place concerning photographic aesthetics.
My last appreciation is concerning the fact that you used an f4 diaphragm in a really difficult light situation, even considering the magnificent stabilization capabilities of the lens used (which I also have).
Congratulations my dear friend!
In this photograph I see all the power of street photograpy made in India! Here I can also appreciate the quality of the lens used that produced a very detailed frame. The portrayed scene is really suggestive, full of points of interest and the main subject is very readable in its dreamy expression. The bright and saturated colors make the idea of the mystical atmosphere of this place very well! Looking at this photograph it seems to smell the melted wax!
Congratulations my dear friend for this 3rd place!
This photograph is potentially beautiful but has not been rewarded because you have chosen a cut too radical; In my opinion, travel photography can not be cut into a square format. Another reason why your image loses strength is due to the obstacle that does not allow you to clearly see the face of the woman, the central element of this photograph. However, you took a nice moment of prayer and I thank you for telling us this story!
This image is a beautiful snapshot of the sunrise on Inle Lake but has not been rewarded because, in my opinion, it is afflicted by two limits: the first one is that you used a not very bright lens that forced you to raise the ISO; the second one is that you haven't corrected the lens distortion and you had forced too much the contrasts and/or the clarity in post production.
In any case, you made a nice picture of a wonderful place.
When I was involved in this contest, the theme "Candlelight" inspired me a lot. I love this kind of situations to make my photos and it is not easy to find this kind of situations to catch.
I am a tireless traveler. For this reason I was immediately attracted to travel photographs. Another discriminating factor in choosing the winners was the spontaneity of the photographed scene.
Congratulations because here you was able to get the perfect mix between subject, lights, technique and mood! Really amazing work dear friend !
This photograph is, in my honest opinion, the most beautiful because it was made without any set preparation and, despite this, you have been able to produce a perfect snapshot of this Hindu holy festival, probably in the middle of chaos.
My most sincere congratulations!

There are few light sources as atmospheric as candlelight. The warm, flickering glow can lend a drama and romance to just about any situation. However, shooting in a low light environment such as this is always going to present some challenges of its own. Whether you're looking to shoot portraits, still life or the candles themselves, make sure you prepare your scene, and your camera, in advance.
