Thank you for submitting this image. I love the composition, with the disappearing lines adding to the feel of looking into the distance. I particular love the textures in this image; the grid on the window alongside the texture of the dog's fur. I love how still she is and the mist on the window under her nose adding to the feel that she's been there a while! The black and white toning is lovely with a pleasing balance of light and shade, the lightest part of the image leading me to her eye. Congratulations on first place and well done Sara!
Thank you for submitting this image. I absolutely love this capture which is full of personality and moment. The detail in the cat's mouth and nose is beautiful and gives the image enormous impact. I would have loved to see a little more detail in the eyes and the rest of the right ear, so a step back would have made the image even stronger for me, but it nonetheless stood out as a clear favourite. Congratulations on your top ten placing.
Thank you for submitting this image which stood out for me immediately. Technically this is a very strong portrait, with the lighting and depth of field drawing attention to the eyes and the different textures beautifully. I particularly appreciate the composition, with the dog looking up into what I felt was just the right amount of negative space. I love the simplicity and skill in this photograph. Congratulations on second place.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 251 and 1000 in this week’s Leaderboard.** Our two most popular pets are in the limelight again. Pictures can be of either cats, or dogs, but if you’ve managed to get these famously antagonistic animals together in the same frame then kudos!
