You've used contrast, shadows and architecture beautifully here to create such a compelling image with a fantastic narrative. I love the square aspect ratio and how you've balanced the image. It works brilliantly in black and white, enhancing the contrast and shadows and creating such atmosphere and mood.

The image may appear at first to be 'simplistic', but it works so well: the reflections in the wet sand paired with the gentle, rolling waves work fantastically and black and white is a great choice too. The shallow depth of field has ensured that the subject pops without being lost in the contrast of the water.

I love the inquisitive expression on this gorgeous cat and the colour contrasts so well against an otherwise black canvas. I like the use of a square aspect ratio as I'd argue the 'typical' ones would add very little, given the empty space.
