What a chonky fellow this cat is, sucking up the sun's warmth on a cold day. This image is full of character with an injection of humour. That slightly open right eye and that folded-forward left ear make me smile. This environmental photo works, as all great environmental photos should, as it gives context to the subject, does not distract from the subject and gives the viewer insight into the personality and lifestyle of the subject. Thank you so much, dear photo crowder, for submitting this photo into my contest.

In this contest description, Cats and Snow, I allowed composites as I felt some folks might not have access to snow or/and a cat. This one appears to be a well-executed composite but I might be wrong (do let me know). I love everything about this environmental portrait of this lovely orange and white tabby. Like all excellent environmental portraits, the window with the green shutters, the painting above the window, the feeder, and the foreground snow covered fence .give context to the subject you’re photographing as well as points of interest. They tell the story and don't distract, in my opinion, from the subject. The whole composition gives insight into the personality and lifestyle of this cat. Well, done and thanks so much for submitting this image to my contest.

Oh, my what a lovely floofy, chonky kitty running through the snow toward you. He is reminiscent of the Norwegian Forest-ish megafloof cats like Saempy and her others photographed by the well-known Finnish photographer, Riikka Hedman, seen on all the media in recent years. I love everything about this photo especially how nicely the snow frames your eye-level, energetic kitty with fur flowing, tail flying overhead, leaping toward you with green eyes focusing on you. Congratulations on being in the top 10! Keep up the good work!.

I kept coming back to this one. I thought at first it was just a another cliche cat in the snow snapshop. But, oh, how those green eyes drew me in. I see so much more in this delightful street photo. I see organic vs inorganic, beauty vs ugliness, softness vs hardness. Do I dislike the truck - yes. Do I love this green-eyed floofy feline staring at me? Of course! I wish I knew what the Russian maker titled this image. Congratulations on this fine photo and keep submitting to as many contests as you possibly can.

This photo is a top 10 if I ever saw one! I stated in my contest description that composites were ok and I really wonder if this one is an excellently executed composite (do let me know, dear maker). The sweet faced cat seems to be leaping for joy (tail straight up shows he's happy and relaxed) toward the photographer. Placing the cat dead center does not bother me at all. I even love what looks like a bit of drool (or snow) dripping from this lovely tabby and white's mouth. The snow and frost on the grass add so much to the story. Congratulations and thank you for submitting this great image.

I love how this photographer captures the seemingly sweet faced cougar in the snow. l love how the maker framed this fine feline in the dreamy soft background. I love how the shooting-into-the-sun look outlined the cat in glowing whiteness. If this were my image, I'd lighten up the cougar's eyes in post processing to draw the viewer into these oh-so-important exquisite features of her face. Thanks for submitting this wonderful photo to my contest.

Thank you so much for submitting this wonderful minimalistic photo of this floofy yellow-eyed furbaby in the snow. Here the extreme sparseness and simplicity of the snow leaves all the attention to be given to this pretty orange kitty. This "less is more" approach gives very satisfying, in my mind, results. I love that the drifting snow with its dreamy diagonal lines crossing the upper to the left side seem to mimic the topline of the cat. I have no problem that the cat is in the center of the lower third of this image which is actually following the "rule of thirds". Also, the square format works well with this composition. I only wish that you did not put your signature on this photo as it detracts by creating a new focal point taking my eye on a journey you never intended. Congratulations on 4th place!

I waffled on this one. Do I love it or dislike it? The seemingly over sharpened, crinkly look bothered me at first but I kept coming back to this photo which, to me, captures the wonderful personality of this lovely feline. She is reminiscent of the Norwegian Forest-ish megafloof cats like Saempy and others in the snow by well-known Finnish photographer, Riikka Hedman, seen on all the media in recent years. Some of hers, also, seem to have that over sharpened look. So, in the end, I did commend it. I'd love to know what the pro judges think about this image. Thank you dear Photocrowder for submitting this photo in my contest.
