Prize details

The expert judge's chosen winner of the 'Character Study' contest will receive a Fujifilm Instax camera worth £250 GBP. The winner of the crowd vote will receive a year-long subscription to Digital Camera magazine.

The overall winner of DCPOTY 2018 will receive prizes worth £4800 GBP: Fujifilm XT2 camera, Fujinon16-55mm f2.8 R LM WR, Fujinon 50-140mm f2.8 WR OIS XF, 12.9-inch iPad Pro (64gb), Apple Pencil, Affinity Photo, subscription to Digital Camera magazine.

How it works

Every photo submitted will be available for the crowd to rate once the submissions period has ended. In this contest, the entries are hidden until the rating period begins.

Some contests on Photocrowd also have a judge. After the submission period closes the judge chooses their favourite images and writes some image reviews. The crowd and judge results will be announced on the same day.

Digital Camera Photographer of the Year is a major competition to discover and reveal exciting and talented photographers. With enticing prizes to be won and a separate contest for photographers 25 and under, a line-up of professional judges will choose winners across a range of themed categories, as well as selecting the overall winners. The crowd can also join in with special Crowd Vote awards – pick your favourites!
