Having shot motorsport many times in the past, I know how extremely difficult it is to capture these kinds of moments. The image is perfectly sharp with the rider in focus whilst the background is blurred with the camera pan. Getting that perfect shot with the flames coming from the exhaust is just exceptional work.
Beautiful setting. Cars plus sunsets really are a special combination. The tilted angle of the frame allows for a greater range of the scene to be captured, with larger amounts of the sky visible than otherwise would have been. The car is nicely framed and the front is nice and sharp. The flame coming out the exhaust is an added bonus.

I am looking for your photos of any motor racing vehicle, be it on two, three, or four wheels, which are on a dedicated tarmac racing circuit. Photos can include the circuit, marshals, fans, pit crew, etc. Please do not submit images from rallies, track days, or dirt/gravel ovals.
An unusually angled shot but it works so well. The slanted angle of the rider gives the image a dynamic feel. The rider and bike are sharp with the background nicely blurred because of the low aperture. A minor criticism is the red and white crash barriers in the background, however this largely cannot be helped at the majority of circuits. The crop has done well at eliminating the majority of the crash barrier in the background to combat this.
The first thing that jumps out is the perfect sharpness of the bike and rider. 1/320 may not be the slowest shutter speed for a pan but it has worked well with a low aperture. If the shutter speed was lower, the background would lose some of the distracting details like the crash barrier. The sharpness more than makes up for it though. Being able to pick out the layup of the carbon fibre composite is one big achievement for an action shot.
