This is my kind of shot. Clearly the photographer has planned his shoot well and conveyed with great artistry just how vast and also how jagged the Dubai skyline is. It looks like the bottom jaw of a deep sea beast.

Brilliant work!

There were many submissions captured from this famous viewpoint but this is my favourite not just in terms of mood but also technically too.

It's really important with shots like this, that you keep verticals straight if you want to take your photography to the next level and this is a great example of the difference that it can make.

Beautifully done!

Flawless image. Absolutely perfect composition, razor sharp and with a great choice of shutter speed to smooth the water and make this image all about the skyline.

The framing and lack of clutter or distraction is such that the New York skyline takes on an almost sculptural feel.

It's elegant, simple and apparently effortless.

This is a place I know very well and I have to say, this panorama is better than any I have captured from here.

Brilliant timing, exquisite sharpness and a fantastic edit, give this image a wonderful sense of intrigue that really draws you into the scene.

Great photography!

I find. this shot so interesting and powerful. Perhaps as a colour image it wouldn't have the same impact but in black and white it really brings attention to the interplay of straight lines and rounded edges.

The wispy cirrus sky and curvature of the O2 beautifully break up the monotony of straight lines and the end result is a really strong one.

This is just a stunning image. It's beautifully, sharp, perfectly timed and wonderfully composed.

Bonus points also for educating me on the skyline of Kuwait, which I had no idea was so fantastic.

I just wonder if the shot could have been taken to another level with a longer exposure to smooth the water but one of my top 5 shots overall.

I'm an absolute sucker for these sort of desert fog shots and would LOVE to capture one myself one day.

It's a truly magical scene and would have made my top 5 with a slightly more impactful composition that focused in a bit more.

Still amazing though, well done.

Just wow! This image is so different to anything else in the competition and although it appears strongly edited, it's done in such a smooth and sophisticated way.

The architectural details are gloriously illuminated by what seems like precision stage lighting and I can't take my eyes off it.

This is a very different image to any of the others in the top 10 but it does the very same thing that a more set-back or elevated panorama does.

It captures the insane density of the metropolis with so much information packed in but no distraction.

Great use of verticals gives this street scene a very sculptural feel as well as a very very sci fi one. Brilliant capture!

This is a truly dazzling image. Part of me wonders whether it's too good to be true and the other part doesn't care because it's so intensely captivating.

Timing, composition and sharpness are all top notch but it's the overall vibe that makes it worthy of a top 3 finish.

This is just magic! I've photographed similar scenes in London and so I am greatly appreciative of the photographers commitment to planning and pulling it off so perfectly.

There are other images in this competition that are clearly technically superb but in terms of capturing a moment of indescribable beauty, this has to be the winner.

This is the spirit of cityscape photography for me. Capturing magic that hardly anyone else saw from that angle.

Views of a city are often epic in feel. Looking out across the metropolis, a blend of low rise, high rise, towers, places of worship and the occasional blockbuster landmark. They offer an opportunity to make the most of dramatic skies, or to shoot at night when the city is aglow.

I love the use of the foreground in this shot to illustrate just how insanely massive the distant towers are and how impressively they loom over homes of a more traditional scale.

The muted colours also give this shot a slightly dystopian vibe that I really like.

Oh wow! I must visit Seattle one day because this is just utterly incredible.

The contrast of the pink sky with the snow capped mountains and epic skyline is a special combination.

Thanks for putting Seattle on my list of places to go. That's what photography is about eh?

Such a beautiful scene portrayed in such a moody way, I love it!

You can feel the movement in the clouds and it's that drama that really makes this image stand out in a field that tends towards nice skies and sunny days.

This is simply stunning! What an incredible view and the photographer has done an expert job in doing it justice.

The sharpness and depth are spot on, the colours are simply incredible and a good photo always makes me want to go there myself and this has achieved that!
