Cityscapes at Night

In association with PhotoPlus

Open Judging Results
Brief

In this Canon-only contest we want to see the best cityscapes taken at night. City scenes take on a magical transformation once the sun has set, with buildings lighting up like fairy lights and vibrant car headlights trailing through your scenes. We're looking for any cityscapes taken after sunset so shots taken in the blue hour are perfect too. If you're stuck for inspiration the red brake lights and white head lights of cars can be turned into vibrant traffic trails with a long exposure and would be a good place to start, but don't be afraid to get creative and surprise us. The judge's top 10 pictures will appear in PhotoPlus magazine with our judge's top choice taking home a Manfrotto Pixi Evo tripod.

The winner will receive a Manfrotto PIXI EVO miniature tripod worth £52.95.

The brief in detail

DO: Ensure your photo was taken on a Canon camera. Have EXIF data in your photo (or supply the camera settings in the info section). Provide a title for your photo. Write a description of the photo you're entering of at least 50 words to give us the background of what the image is of and how it was taken. A little context can go a long way! Check your photo has a resolution of at least 3000 pixels on the longest edge of the photo as we will be printing our top picks in PhotoPlus: the Canon magazine.

DO NOT: Have a watermark on your photograph. Supply images taken on camera systems other than Canon. Submit low-resolution pics.

Prize details

The winner will receive a Manfrotto PIXI EVO miniature tripod worth £52.95. Compatible with lightweight DSLRs and mirrorless cameras the PIXI EVO can handle up to 2.5kg of equipment and has two leg angles for extra stability on uneven ground. It's ideal for photographers who love to travel light or even looking for a nifty option to mount your flashguns off-camera. The judge's favourite images will also feature in a future issue of PhotoPlus magazine.
