Classical Architecture (Exteriors)

November 2024

The treatment on this image is great, it really transports the viewer to the location and I think you have done a great job of balancing the exposure of the pure whites of the snow with the darker colours of the building.

A beautifully composed image which you have obviously spent some time to get perfect.

The exposure is great, all the detail is in the whites and the colours from the warm sunlight look fantastic against the blue of the sky.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked 1001+ in this week’s Leaderboard.** Classical architecture is that which either is, or is more or less derived from, the Greek and Roman architecture of classical antiquity. Almost any architectural style up until the advent of modernism will contain classical elements and influences, and is welcome in this contest. So whether you know your Doric from your Ionic, if you've been shooting the exteriors of old buildings then you should have something to enter.

Congratulations on another fantastic image!

Beautifully edited to give us a perfect feeling of how it felt to stand there on that cold day, the colours work really well here!

I would have liked to have seen the castle just breaking above the tree line to improve the composition. For me it's sitting on the same level and doesn't quite stand out enough (obviously easy to say when there may have been a 50 foot drop in front of you preventing that shot happening).
