**Open to photographers with a ranking outside the top 1000. There are two other 'Close-ups' contests currently open to other ranks. Take a look at the <a href="https://www.photocrowd.com/leaderboard/">leaderboard</a> for more information on Photocrowd rankings.** By simply moving in closer on a subject, it's possible to discover a whole new level of detail and texture that might just have been a blur of colour from a distance. A close up, or even a macro, shot of even the most mundane objects can show it in new, creative and surprising ways. This is a brief that can be open to interpretation.
