Commercial Buildings (Exteriors and Interiors)

I like this image so much. The contrast of the green jungle and the very modern buildings works so well. The ships in the background are a second read to me and are slightly distracting, but don't overtake the image. The cloudy sky also helps compress the image so that your eye goes straight to the outcropping of buildings first and foremost. I don't think it would have been as effective had the sky been a solid blue.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 251 and 1000 in this week’s Leaderboard.** Architecture that houses commercial entities, from office blocks to banks, food stores to warehouses, may not always be the kind of building or space that you think about capturing with your camera. But here’s the challenge - to think more about this type of building, how it has been designed, how it functions, how it changes depending on the day, or time of day, and the people that interact with it in their working lives. They are fascinating places, not always easy to get access to, but a very common site in all our towns and cities. Both exterior and interior views are welcomed in this contest.

I love this simple yet graphic black and white image, even the fence works. The use of a camera tilt is magical and really makes the shot. I love that the building ends in the top left corner. I also like the fact that it's basically a grey on grey scene, even the tonality of the sky mimics the grey of the building. Great job making an already interesting building look even more engaging.

I love the simple blue on blue of this metal building and fence. The angles are perfectly captured and the image is fun to look at and had a great visual play. This is another example of a sky that works for the building. Had there been any white clouds in this shot it wouldn't have worked as well for me.
