This image is well composed as the central building with its tall tail seems to push its way out between the two buildings in the foreground. The placement and composition of the surrounding buildings is good and the central building really stands out. The top of the building lands perfectly in the frame as well, drawing the eye up. This image draws you in and then up. The conversion to black and white also simplifies it to its purest design elements.

What a wonderful shot of this building. I like that the central core sits higher in the frame and isn't vertically centered. I also like that the horizontal centering of the hole is equidistant from right to left. If it had been offset to the right or left I think it would lose some of its dynamism. The viewer doesn't really know what sort of building this is and from an architectural standpoint I don't think that matters. The image draws the viewer in and through the image in an effective way.

I love the creativity and ingenuity behind this image of chimneys. This isn't a shot that you see very often and I like the originality. It has become a purely graphic shot where the buildings don't matter so much, but their tops have taken on a personality of their own. What a great idea! I even appreciate the three lampposts peaking out between the two industrial buildings. They are a second read for me. A simple image with complex properties. Bravo.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked 1000+ in this week’s Leaderboard.** Architecture that houses commercial entities, from office blocks to banks, food stores to warehouses, may not always be the kind of building or space that you think about capturing with your camera. But here’s the challenge - to think more about this type of building, how it has been designed, how it functions, how it changes depending on the day, or time of day, and the people that interact with it in their working lives. They are fascinating places, not always easy to get access to, but a very common site in all our towns and cities. Both exterior and interior views are welcomed in this contest.
