Corridors and Hallways

August 2021

Great composition and i'm a massive fan of straight lines, a very architectural image, which appeals to me!

The image is perfectly balanced on both sides and a great example of the rule of thirds with a little bit of a diptych feel to it.

Of this set of images this one is my favourite.

Adding the person in at the end really lifts it and the colour pop draws the eye through the image which is fantastic.

It's framed perfectly and anything red is always a winner!

Great image which really stands out on the page.

The whites are really well exposed so well done for that, I would just like to see the lady a little more in the frame to add that red pop of colour forth in as it almost gets lost when the eyes follow the perspective of the room.

Great treatment on this one, it almost reminds me of a pre raphaelite painting and that little shaft of light in the foreground and the addition of the person in the background adds to it and takes the viewer through the image

The angles on this make a great image and having some human connection in the image makes it for me.

I'm not usually a big fan of black and white photography but I think it actually really works here as it makes you concentrate on the architectural lines and draws the eyes to the person, good job.

Great image, very futuristic feel to it and nice leading lines throughout the image, great post production to add to that too!

Kudos for hanging around to wait for the people to disappear, it was definitely worth it on this occasion!

Of this set, this one stands out above the rest, the positioning of the two girls is great and their eye line asks a lot of questions which makes for a great image!

A great example of the best camera is the one you have with you too, I don't think many people would be able to guess this was taken on a mobile phone so great work!

A few images of this similar setup but I really like the simplicity and muted tones in this one!

Nice shallow depth of field which draws attention to the subjects and they really pop from the darker surroundings so great job!

The warm tones and control of the highlights are perfect in this.

The only thing which has stopped it placing higher is the bottle on the left hand side which takes it from a medieval scene straight into the 21st century.

Corridors and hallways range from bare spaces that do little more than connect rooms, to more elaborate affairs that welcome visitors with a grandeur that aims to set the tone for the house that lays beyond. They can often be overlooked as photographic subjects, but offer fantastic opportunities for symmetrical compositions, a focus on detail, and for other playful arrangements of the various door and wall joins that are packed into a relatively small space.

This is my favourite of this set, you get a real sense of being encapsulated in the space.

I would have liked to have seen the bags removed from the floor in the foreground as I think they distract the eye away from the subject of the photograph being taken.

Really like the angle of view on this, i'm not usually a fan of really wide images but you've made this work and the colour treatment is fantastic too.

Personal preference, but i'm not a fan of watermarks and find it distracting, the viewers eye is being led naturally from right to left but the watermark keeps pinging my eye back to the bottom right and there is nothing going on down there.

This is a great image!

Particularly like the way the image is split in two and the bottom has the slight ripple from the flooring.

I would like to have seen some light on the guy cleaning just to lift them a bit but I guess that would have lost the candid aspect of the image.

This very nearly made my top 10, if I had a top 11 you would have been right in there!

The colour treatment is ace and I love the warm light on the entrance, would just liked to have seen a bit more light on the lady in foreground to lift her a little more but great image!

Really nice image and it definitely takes me right to the scene so I can imagine myself there which is the sign of a good photograph!

I would have liked the subject to have taken just a little step in towards the light so they were illuminated a little bit more and it would have lifted this from good to great.
