This image caught my eye when it was first entered and quickly became my favourite. It is a lovely piece of work, fun, creative and tells a story. It is well executed and for a simple image is full of detail. I really like the puppet idea and the puppet masters hand as a shadow gives the image a powerful outlook. The pose is well thought out and relatable to the theme, even the expression on the face adds detail and depth. The composition works well within the frame, the crop and the black and white finish really adds to the feel of the picture creating an raw emotional feel. A very nice image, Well done.
This image made me smile, it has a fun feeling to it. There is a few of your images in this contest and I can’t personally fault any of them. Great pieces of work. This picture is full of things to talk about, each self portrait within it are individually different and the personalities and traits of each are well thought of. Minds me of speed dating and the lady has three personalities to chose from. Post production work is spot on. Great picture.
This image isn’t the most creative of the self portraits but I was drawn to it instantly by those striking eyes. It’s a lovely portrait, gritty and intense. Works great in black and white, and the black and white finish helps define the skin tones and gives the image a very natural feel. The crop and the shallow depth of field used, brings my attention straight to the eye, which for me is the focal point within this frame. Lovely image.

I looked at this image a few times before the rating began and i was drawn in by the lighting. I’ve looked at a number of self portraits and this is an unusual idea compared to what I’ve seen but that’s why I like it! The lighting is spot on for me, it enhances the shape of the body and the highlights are complemented using black and white/monochrome. It’s a powerful image with a great deal of emotion, the pose creates a sense of vulnerability and draws you into the frame. Good work.
