Crystals and Gemstones in Colour

Firstly thank you for entering in my contest, "Crystals and Gemstones." This is a very wonderful macro image of the amazingly gorgeous Labradorite, one of my all time favorite gemstones. You have captured the beautiful iridescent colors of this gem which is what they are famous for, it's a perfect mix of blues and greens with the light hitting them in a way that really makes them pop! The quality is spectacular, the composition is wonderful and the stone is a true stunner! I love that you have chosen to do this in macro and not from afar, this way you can really see what this stone is most famous for. So a huge congratulations to you on this winning photograph.

Firstly thank you for entering in my contest "Crystals and Gemstones" It was surprisingly a difficult choice to choose the top ten and this one really stuck out to me the most. It's wonderful that you have chosen crystals that where inherited to you from your mother, that is truly touching to see these have meaning to you and you have a closeness to them, which is probably why this photograph sticks out, it also tells a story, it gives feeling and emotion. To me I thought of an aura when I saw these beautiful clear quartz crystals in this display, the white surrounding them representing purity and then going to the light blue which represents calmness, happiness and relaxation within. Now stacking these crystals I know is not an easy challenge and you have managed to do this, along with giving them a story that is filled with emotion. You have both technically and emotionally achieved the perfect crystal image and so I happily give you first place, a well deserving image, congratulations!

The black background makes this gorgeous mineral pop out and come to life, I like that you did not do a macro or extreme close up of the this citrine geode, instead you left room for the viewer to see the outer crust and that brings more appeal to the image. They certainly are a wonderful stone and the image is technically perfect, great quality and very eye catching. Congratulations on this winning photograph!

This is a very gorgeous image of this agate, the bands are very eye catching with the bright yellows and pinks, a great gemstone to photograph. The quality is amazing and the composition is very wonderful, the back lighting is great so that you can see all the wonderful bands of this agate and I love that this one has a bunch of beautiful and colorful crystals in the center, it makes it even more special.
