March 2024

This image made my top ten as it was shot at one of my favourite shutter speeds for motion - 1/10th sec. Perfect for shooting a city in the evening, and this photographer has captured those famous street zebra crossings too with the city lights streaking behind.

Street art was the clear winning factor about this image, with such an arresting face painted on the wall. The cyclist on the right of the face giving a good balance to the overall image. There is such a lot we don't really know about this image, but it's a lovely graphic shot.

Meet the expert judge

I love the vibrancy of this image, with the perfect side profile of the cyclist, and the light falling onto the see-through waterproof cover being worn. A few dots of rain can be seen. F/4.5 puts the background enough out of focus to give the cyclist separation. lovely.
