Cyclists on Bicycles

This picture is so full of narrative and is helped to my mind by the fact it is in black and white. The elderly gentleman seems content as he waits for a customer. It seems incredible that a man of his age is still working away helping people.

I have chosen this as my No. 1 as I love the clarity and the linear nature of the image. The reflections and shadows in the picture all add to it's impact. The cyclist is a simple addition which completes to me a wonderful image.

I find this picture very amusing. The colours are good as is the impact of the shadows of branches on the wall. I agree with the comment on the picture that it seems a dichotomy for the man to be using modern technology while sitting on such an old mode of transport.

A common site today of a food delivery man in the city of Tokyo at night. I like the colour palette with the blue tones and the effect caused by the low shutter speed with the lights of the city. The fact that image has also been taken while the cyclist is passing over a crossing helps the visual impact of the image.

A picture full of atmosphere and somehow a sense of unease. I like the fact that in editing almost all colour has been drained from the image and the fact that the cyclist is blurred while the scrawlings on the wall are clear.

I presume this image was taken with Intentional Camera Movement and that the result is totally worthwhile. I think what makes it work for me is the fact that the sky and ground as in white which helps make the colours on the people in the image stand out. The position of the cyclist is perfect as are the colours, although purely accidental, of the other people in the image.

A very artisitc style of photograph and I feel the photographer has a good eye for what will work in an image. . One is drawn immediately to the bright orange mosaic on the road and then moves up to the cyclist's bicycle. The shadow showing both bike and cyclist completes the picture well.
