This image perfectly captures the delicate petals of this dahlia. The use of water droplets really enhances the overall ethereal feel of the photograph and adds another element which helps to bring the photograph to life.

It could have been very easy to lose the subtle colouring of this bloom but you've captured the range of shades wonderfully.

During the judging process I kept being drawn back to this eye-catching image. The arrangement, composition, lighting and especially the colour depth and saturation are all stunning and glow from the screen.

For me this image captures the essence of "sunshine in a photograph". The glorious colours of the beautifully lit flower contrast perfectly with the out of focus natural background.
