The composition and subject is clearly well considered here. While I like the attention to detail if you really want to execute an image like this well the details are key. Some of these are simple. It's great all the same cutlery was used but if they were all positioned exactly the same that'd be better. It's something the eye really notices if the elements are so similar/identical. On a slightly more advanced/technical note metal is very difficult to photograph (due to its reflective nature). The key is getting a very clean reflection. Tracing paper, White and/or black card are great for this. Don't be disparaged though, this is still a nice image. With the fundamentals there with just some technical elements that could really make it shine!
A really pleasing image here. So much form and texture. The close up slightly abstract composition coupled with a beautiful soft light; pushes the viewer to concentrate on that shapes in a somewhat dissociative way. Making it a really interesting picture to look at. It's almost Gurksyesque. A great culmination of technique and subject to generate a winning image, congratulations!

After the marathon of food and excess that is the festive period (followed by the inevitable 'get fit' resolutions of the new year) many people may now be on a 'detox'. But what exactly does that mean? 'Cold turkey' doesn't just refer to the piles of leftovers that are still in your fridge... Turn your focus to health, fitness and nutrition for this brief. Good luck!
This was easily the most humorous and well executed image I saw in the competition. The Subject just so happy and pleased with himself (and so he should be), it's infectious. Not only that, technically it's well thought out. With good composition. The placement of both the main subject and the two icebergs behind making it a pleasing image to look at. Also one of the fewer images to try and tackle the subject with a more imaginative and interesting way. Well done.
