To many, documentary photography has an almost spiritual association with monochrome. The history of black and white documentary photography is long and rich, and the focus that monochrome gives to the story being told in the images is powerful and evocative. If nothing else, take some of your favourite colour documentary images from your archive, and see what happens to them when you strip out the colour, and play with the contrast. All subjects are welcome, as is single-colour toning.
