I did a 'wow' when first casting my eyes on this shot. I've never seen a door like it - spectacular! I like the overall earthy tones of this image with the light and shadows adding a touch of moodiness...and it's level - which is always good to see as it's something that often frustrates me when I see unintentional 'wonky' shots. They look a forbidding bunch, and you've captured them well. Well done and many thanks for your entry.

I will take this opportunity to thank all those who took the time to enter this competition - and who also managed to abide by the brief. - something which appears easy for the majority and a little difficult for a select minority. Onto the winning image - I particularly like simple shots such as this whereby it has been elevated to the next level with regards the natural light and shadow prevailing at the time - clearly some thought had been given to this aspect before this shot was taken. I very much like the composition, sharpness and relatively cool tones of the shot, with the shadow cast by the door handle itself topping the whole thing off rather well. As I've said before, simple but very effective. Well done and many thanks for your entry.
An image that grabbed my attention as soon as I saw it. Although my days of urban exploration are largely over, it was memories of those days that came flooding back when I saw this shot. Composition, sharpness and detail are all served very well, but again it's the relatively cool tones I particularly like. Derelict and abandoned structures of any kind can present so many photographic opportunities and you've grabbed one such opportunity here rather well. I love it. Many thanks for your entry and well done.
Another shot that proved attention-grabbing when I first saw it. It meets the brief perfectly. It's another of those scenes I would venture passes most of us by as we are most likely to see such a scene every day within our homes or places of work and think nothing of it. Therefore, I think you've captured what most would consider a rather mundane scene and elevated it to a higher level. I like the warm tones of the light on what appears to be wooden flooring with the light coming through the open door doing just enough to illuminate a little detail within the darkened room to make it interesting. Well done and many thanks for your entry.
I just love the very cool blue/green tones of this shot. Composition, in my opinion, is perfect with the doors roughly taking up the lower third of the shot. I seem to recall seeing a very similar shot of the same kind of genre recently and am inclined to think this shot is by the same photographer...? Again, a very simple, pleasing photograph - well composed - that I think would pass most of us by. I love it - well done and many thanks for your entry.

A shot I knew would be in my top 10 as soon as I saw it. Compositionally, I think it's spot on. I love the detail and the overall 'drabness' of the scene. I also like the style with which you have processed the shot - employing just the right degree of softness with the relatively warm tones of the door contrasting rather well with the wall either side. The addition of the graffiti to the left of your shot just tops it off. Well done, a very nice shot and many thanks for your entry.

For this contest I would like to see your photos of a door or a doorway. The door or doorway must be the main focus of your image and not just simply a shot within which a door or doorway appears. Strictly no composite images. I look forward to seeing your entries.
