what a brilliance well taken landscape image taken here its so magical and must be first. I love the POV here looking down over the downs at a farmer working his fields in the setting sunshine. A farmer's work is never done, working most day in the summer from dawn to dusk, this image has captured that down to a T. The tones and colour captured is super from this view point with the light greens from the sunlight matching the darker colour of the trees the view is something else so whether the photographer is on a hill ( I strongly suspect he is ) he couldn't have chosen a better POV the picture is sharp from top to bottom and is worthy of framing and putting on any wall.. well done a super image
wow I would have loved seeing this live, its usually all done by the combine machine theses days so actually seeing this or something like this would only be done on a Victorian Working farm although sometimes they do the same at vintage rally's and fairs. This is like going back to the 1940's with the land girls which judging by the clothes worn is part of the re-enactment the image Pov is good capturing the action perfectly as the straw is fed up to the top by the workers. The image is sharp and well taken capturing good detail
When I set this comp I wanted the photographer to capture life down on the farm' although this doesn't fall into that bracket it is a good photo worthy of a place because its a very good image and the hay bales will support life on the farm by going toward feeding livestock over winter. I like the colour in this image, that sky is a beau with gold and brown mixed with the darker black and purples. The focus is good on the front bales but a little soft on the others.
this image very nearly made it into my top ten but sadly just missed out, its shows a farmer preparing the soil again for another harvest after harvesting with his tractor working away. The image is nicely balanced taking in the scene, I am glad that there wasn't to much sky because the sky is blank of any cloud and could have made it dull. The POV is good although I think the tractor could have been put a little off centre more. Its a nice view of a working farm nicely captured

In this contest I would like you to show images which capture life on the farm. Please do not limit your photos to just farm animals. I would like to see images of farmers going about their daily routine - maybe harvesting crops, or tending stock. Please do not enter images showing close up shots of horses, cows, sheep etc. I look forward to seeing your images of farming life.
