What struck me about this shot was just how into the music the subject is. Festivals can be such excellent places to capture the passion people feel from music as they generally feel so much more freedom, and here we see a single girl in a single moment quite literally lost in music. The colour palette, whether original or added later (or most likely an element of both), complements the vibe perfectly, and with the shallow depth of field we see the sharp detail of her hair and facial profile which helps to focus the viewer. Awesomely arresting image. Well done.

An underground station is normally a place far from sanctity - unless first thing or last thing at night - yet here we see a perfect world. We see Clapham Common station at a time that doesn't exist - a composition of many images to create the perfect moment in time . You can feel the movement of the trains and the wind created by them whipping past your ears as they blast by. Bright colours, no blown highlights, no chewing gum on the platform all help to accentuate the dynamism of the shot. The attention to detail to create a perfect image here is beyond commendable.

Whilst there is a certain mystery about The Lady of the Sands here I just wish that the subject had been facing me. I would also have dropped lower when taking the shot to crop away the mountains in the background as they distract from the overall cleanliness of the image, and would have considered balancing the space at the bottom of the image to that at the top. There is a lot of negative blue at the top. That said we have a lovely artistic image and I have no doubt that the finished series would be something I would like to see.

An extremely impressive shot here where your trigger timing couldn't be better. To frame the player's face inside the head of the racket is really a challenge and I can only assume that you do this regularly! It really captures the effort and energy that the player is putting into his play and one he would surely like to have on his wall. I would have liked to have seen a different crop that balances it better but it doesn't detract from the power it evokes.

Light trails are a fantastic way to display energy and your foresight to create such a shot here is laudable. The mystical feeling with the clouds and the simple colour change as the car turns the switchbacks and progresses up the mountain create a powerful image. Definitely a case of right place and right time, along with being perfectly prepared for that moment when it comes combine here to create what is really a wonderful image. I especially like the "star" created as the car turns on the top left of the image!

These type of photos are most definitely not the easiest to shoot and what you have achieved here is undeniably commendable, but that little more attention to detail could have made it much stronger. In general the image is just a bit too much on the dark side - you could have worked on it in post to brighten it up and make it shine giving the juice that much more of a crisp look. Your framing as well chops off the bottom so we miss some of the explosion... As it stands it is a very well produced shot, though the final clean up and punch is missing.

There was no question for me that this was the winning photo as soon as I saw it. When I first looked at it I immediately felt the energy in it making me feel that I was there at that moment - which for a silhouetted black and white image is really something. There is so much happening - the two dancers really into it on stage, the musicians and an extremely enthusiastic keyboard player - and all beautifully accentuated by the dramatic lighting and smoke. This was obviously a seriously great gig and I totally love it.

I must have driven past this power station a thousand times, and have always said to myself I must shoot it - but how? And where from? I love this shot - not only have you created what I would like to but you chose a great viewpoint to shoot from and combined it with some great movement. The underlying meaning of the power from the vehicles and the station behind create a great dynamic in the most unsuspecting of places.

Where do you start when looking at this image? So much movement and so many graphical patterns and elements, it really highlights that beauty can be found in the most normal of places. The circular tiling patterns draw you in and on further examination you see the slow shutter speed has made more of the water in the fountain. Then we have an elevator, two escalators and people whizzing in all directions all culminating in so much energy. A great example of how taking a moment to look around you and merge it with some simple skills can result in something very special.

I really like the concept behind this shoot. Normally we see bullets or arrows exploding water filled balloons but this is a refreshing change - quite literally for the subject. It could however be improved in three key ways: background, flash and framing. The background is distracting, especially with the other photographer on the right - think about a plain background or even doing this in a studio. The flash creates shadow on the upper right arm of the subject. Were there flashes placed elsewhere then this could have been avoided, and a faster shutter speed would have frozen the water more and made it sharper. Framing wise it would have been good to pull back slightly to get the bottom of her shorts ín. Overall a really great shot that could be that bit better!

Great concept here resulting in an effective shot. Crisp, sharp and pinging with energy. Where I feel it could have been improved though would be some more dramatic lighting from the back or sides to add some punch to the image, and also some care taken to tend to the floor before each shot. We can clearly see where the broom swept the dust/powder paint up to the subject and where people were treading around in it. If you were to add those elements in then it would be stunning.

You have a really beautiful image here - just reward for your early rise! The great use of long exposure here creates the wonderful glassy water and the converging lines of the streams of cloud culminate in evoking a real sense of movement - albeit one that is very calming. Add in the sunrise just popping through one of the weir gates creating a warming colour palette to the bottom right and you have a real painterly feel to the image overall.

This image has such great leading lines coming from all angles, ridiculously punchy colors and an absolutely perfect sky, though for me the dynamic is missing from it. Had there been some more movement in the car/carriage through the use of a longer exposure then it would have been up there with the best! Your shutter release timing is spot on as the placement of the car couldn't be better, but to get that movement you could think about using a tripod, a lower ISO and maybe an ND filter.
