Such a wonderful photograph! Most Indian portraits are splashed with reds and golds, black hair and warm skin tones. Definitely, a bold choice was made to use monochrome. The detail in the earrings and necklace contrast well with the woman’s softened skin. Losing the dark hair, blending it with the black background works amazingly well. If I were to make a very minor change, it would be to diminish or remove the eyelash shadow on the outer white of the right eye. A truly intrepid choice using monochrome for this image to produce an outstanding portrait!

This image dispelled my pre-conceived notion that Steampunk could not be elegant. Old retro styles blended with futuristic technology is an odd concept but I think that is the whole point. The lady is beautiful and her outfit is exquisite. Overall underexposure emphasizes the important facial and red hair elements. The black wrought iron background is perfect. If I were to change anything, it would be to dull or eliminate the lights in the background as they are somewhat distracting. Very impressive photograph!

As a two-time cancer survivor, this photograph hits very close to home for me. From two tortuous surgeries through three miserable chemotherapies, I wondered if I would ever see my son fall in love and be married. This brave lady, so nicely dress, and the bride are a loving tribute to hope and the future. Both ladies are elegant is such diametrically different ways. Love the photograph and the story it tells.
