"Ceci n'est pas une pipe" René Magritte wrote in one of his famous artworks. Figurative art is a representation of reality, but it isn't reality, but a well-captured falsehood, and can represent it in various ways. We can build a photo shoot or we can shoot a reportage about a social or political situation which we consider misleading. Show through a photograph what, for you, is a “falsehood”.
Alessandro would like to invite the winners of the Crowd and Judged categories to participate with their winning their shots in the LVI Edition of the National Award of Photography 'B. Cascella'***, which will be exhibited in Italy in the month of May 2017.
*** Participation is entirely optional
Every photo submitted will be available for the crowd to rate once the submissions period has ended. You can see all the images uploaded to a contest, but will need to rate them to see how they’re ranked once the rating period begins.
Some contests on Photocrowd also have a judge. After the submission period closes the judge chooses their favourite images and writes some image reviews. The crowd and judge results will be announced on the same day.
