A superb high key image, cleverly rotated through 90 degrees to add to the abstract of the shot, with the features on the pods looking like faces of some alien biends. Exposure and control of the highlights and dhadows likely in processing have been really well handled to create a striking effect. Congratulations on your second place finish.
I love the moodiness of this image, with bright lines and shapes of the wheel penetrating the darkened sky. The dark sky allows the structure of the wheel to be clearly visible, allowing the viewer to appreciate the complexity of the structure. Great composition and framing, allowing the wheel to be prominent but giving plenty of space to prevent it appearing hemmed in. Congratulations on your third place finish.
A great shot of the pier at Blackpool, showing the iconic tower to inform us of the location, but placing the wheel more centrally to give prominence. The virtually silhouetted structures stand out well against the brighter sky, and the reflections in the pools on the beach add another dimension to the shot. Well done on your top ten placing.
An extremely well-seen shot, making the most of the less-than favourable weather conditions to capture the wheel and isolated visitors to the fair wonderfully reflected in the large puddle. The low shooting angle has allowed the puddle and reflection to dominate the foreground. The slight ripples in the water add interesting lines and shapes. The image works especially well in black and white, with bold contrasts and a good range of tones. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.
On the face of it, a very simple image, but one that was not doubt simple to capture so accurstely and sith such precision. When faced with a structure like these massive wheels, it can sometimes be overwhelming, and diffucult to "find" the shot within the scene overall. You have certainly succeeded here though, presenting us with an interesting composition that stands out for being that little bit different. The dark clouds allow the white of the wheel to stand out nicely. Congratulations on your winning image.

In this contest I would like to see your photos of Ferris wheels. Images can show any type of Ferris wheel, whether a big wheel ride at a funfair or amusement park, or the large Ferris wheels popular as tourist attractions in many cities around the world. Your photos can show a close-up detail of the structure, or the Ferris wheel within a wider setting, but either way the Ferris wheel must be the focal point or obvious feature of your image. Photos can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to your entries.
