Fighters

You can write a lot about this photograph, but, most of the features that you'll find in a good photo in this case can be seen at first glance. Excellent light, very interesting colours, unconventional hero. But above all, this photo radiates with extraordinary energy, dynamism and strength, and I look at it with great pleasure. Just like the rest of the portfolio from this photographer. I would like to see images such as this as much as possible on Photocrowd. Congratulations!

One might wonder why this image was entered into the competition, where the theme is 'fighters'? But the fight is not just sporting struggle or fighting animals. Fighting is also everyday life filled with everyday adversities and tragedies. For me, this portrait is a picture of one of the heaviest fights that man can face. Fighting desolation after loss of a loved one. That is why I think that this photo deserves a special mention. I will not write about its artistic value, because it is just obvious and in my opinion indisputable.

The measure of a true fighter is not how many times one won, but how many times picked up after the defeat. According to me, this image tells just such a story. With a dramatic light and dark scene... eyes of the boxer. Looking at him, you are wondering whether he rises, tries to fight on? It does not matter what outcome of the fight will be but only if the hero will provide a strong will. And that's the point of photography for me, to induce thought, to tell a story with one image.

I like almost everything in this portrait. Central composition, strength, adding an atmosphere and drama, side lighting, dark background. All these elements in a very suggestive way underline the character of the portrayed person. Looking at the portrait there is no doubt that you see a fighter. And yet such was the theme of the contest. Congratulations. It is in my opinion a very good photo from both sides, conceptual and technical.

Most people associate sports with the Olympic Games, World Championships, big shows with spotlights known from television coverage. Meanwhile, the vast majority of athletes have never experienced this kind of circumstance. They lead their struggles on local events, often in not very interesting places, putting to the fight often more heart than the biggest sport stars. This image, in a very interesting and suggestive way captures the spirit of such events and therefore, in my opinion, deserves a mention and attention. I like the composition, view from above and the literal physical contact of the fighters with crowd.

Few people probably associate the starling to the “fighter”. Meanwhile, this image shows us a little less known face of this lovable bird. Undoubtedly, capturing this moment is an outstanding achievement and the photographer for that deserves a big round of applause. Without exorbitant postproduction this image attracts attention by its naturalness. It is a very good wildlife photo in my opinion. Congratulations on “accurate eye” and capturing this very interesting moment. I hope to see some more photos from this author in the near future.

I never liked this kind of wrestling. However, this picture caught my attention. Composition and especially intense colours emphasize the slight kitschy look of the spectacle (only in my opinion of course :)). The whole thing gets a little cartoon character and therefore it is quite interesting and in fact unusual. While I admire the skills of the actors in the show I would not describe them “fighters”. Nevertheless, I think that this photo stands out among those entered for the competition.

Very good composition, I would even say it has an extraordinary dynamic, a perfectly captured moment: the environment and the two heroes are unquestionably strengths of the picture. The whole photo fits perfectly with the theme of the contest. The image shows the power and strength of portrayed animals in an magnificent way. Looking at it one can even feel the power which explodes when the tigers clash. Definitely I would like to see more of your convincing, impressive work. Congratulations!

Muay Thai is a very spectacular sport. Dynamic, full of energy. The real battle, a test of fighting spirit. In my very subjective opinion this picture could be a very good work if not far too aggressive treatment, which in my opinion interferes with reception of the photo. Personally, I would much prefer to see the image in its more natural form, highlighting the excitement of combat. Composition, light are definitely a plus, but processing in my opinion, ruin the potential of this photo.
