Flower Stamens

Thank you for your entry of this beautiful flower. I love the detail on the stamen and the pollen. The colors really pop against the black background. The framing is spot on. The one thing that prevented it from making my short list is the inclusion of the stigma in the center of the stamen. A simple way to correct this is to carefully snip it off before shooting. Thanks again for your amazing shot.

This photo really caught my eye. The flower is very striking against the black background. .Love your lighting.. The only reason it did not make my top 10 list is that the focal point was not clearly on the stamen. Perhaps a secondary light shining inside the flower would help as most of the stamens appear a little dark. Thank you again for your entry.

Thank you for your entry. I love the way you removed some petals so the viewer could see the inside pf the flower. The stamens are perfectly focused, as are the remaining petals and the stem. I wish you had removed the stigma when you removed the petals, as it seems to compete with stamen for the focal point. Other than that, this is a wonderful photograph with care taken to the background and lighting. Beautifully done.

This is a beautiful macro shot showing the stamen covered in pollen. The green of the stamen and deep red pollen really pop against the white petals with their purple spots, creating a very attractive photo. I especially like the fact that you framed the shot to cut off the stigma, leaving no question as to where the focus should be Congratulations on earning a top 10 spot.

Congratulations on earning the top spot with this photograph. I like the close-up shot which allows nothing to distract the viewer from the flower. Beautiful framing. I also like the way the leading lines draw us into the center of the flower and back out again to the 5 stamen with their little blue heads covered in yellow pollen. That pop of the blue heads and the tiny white necks on each of the stamen is very striking against the yellow petals. Wonderful shot.
