These eyes have captured me from the moment I spotted this image. So much joy and zest for life burst out of these dark brown eyes, inquisitive and curious. The viewer can't but get infected by so much enthusiasm and positivity. If only adults could be so open with their feelings, yet it seems to be the children who show us how to enjoy the moment fully. A very worthy winner, congratulations.
I wonder what these two are up to?? You can almost see the little brains whirring, trying to spot an opportunity for some mischief. You've managed to capture the high-spirited joys of childhood beautifully with this image. Using the fence as foreground works really well, as it concentrates the viewer's eyes on the eyes of the two young boys. Magic.
You can firmly feel the cold, just looking at the image. I felt the urge to immediately feed them something warming and bring them into some shelter from the elements. The fact that you used a clear white background, greatly enhances the impact of the dark doe eyes. For me, the ice and snow on the face of the larger deer is the icing on the cake. Simply perfect.
