Four of a Kind

Very well done on achieving 5th place in my competition. Your photo really stood out for me for several reasons. In my opinion, the angle from which it has been taken is ideal for its symmetry. Also, there are very few distractions from unwanted reflections which can be so challenging when taking shots of subjects behind glass. For me, your choice of black and white emphasises the light and shade and further enhances the image. Great photo. Thank you for entering.

Congratulations on achieving 2nd place in my competition. There were several great photos of planes in formation, but your image is my personal favourite for several reasons. I am particularly impressed with the way you have captured the smoke which really creates a sense of movement and makes the planes stand out. Additionally, I like your choice of framing and the detail that can be seen on each of the planes. For me, the limited colours of blue, grey and white further enhance the image. First of all, many congratulations on being the 1st place winner in my competition. From the moment I saw your photo, I felt it would feature highly in the contest. In particular, I like that the blossoms are only clearly shown in the droplet reflections and the background has beautiful bokeh. This really draws the eye to the flowers and makes the image very appealing. For me, the choice of colours is perfect, and the detail you have captured of the wire adds further interest. Your candid shot tells a wonderful story of café life and, in my opinion, the fact that two of the women are inside and two outside adds to the story.
