Great contest!

This was a winner for me early on in the submission stage. Magical reflections, image full of interest, the colours are glorious, I'm glad the photographer didn't enhance them I really like the pastel tone to the whole image. The bridge perfectly set in the composition. It's not crystal sharp but that gives it an ethereal feel. Even the shard of light on the left adds to the image. Well done seriously jealous to have been there let alone take the picture........

This caught my eye at the start of reviewing the contest, if you dont study it too juch it is a nice image and you excuss its faults. There are some issues with composition but it actually fits the brief and is one of the few actual traditional looking gardens. Sorry but I do not know the post processes you used but increasing vignette on the right and removing the object top left would improve it. Never be afraid of blur lots of images do work and shapness is sometimes overated, this is certainly a good axium in b/w........

I liked this image from the start but the sheer volume of great images meant ti had a hard struggle to get into the top 10 but it deserves mention as a well-thought idea.... Possibly it could have been larger in amaout shown but the close framing works well......

Thank you for the description this helped a lot in deciding it's position in the top 10. I love this abstract image and the simple nature of its creation belittles it's beauty. This is a lovely image and I would like to mention the clever close framing and cropping to fill the frame, despite it's extreme effect the subtle structure of the trees is still evident. This is a method I have not used but certainly will attempt, well done.......

Even though the cat dominates the image the subtle details in the background shows the 'garden'. This is a very powerful and eye catching image, it's one you don't ignore, it's uniqueness is the main reason for it's top 10 inclusion. I gwt the feeling it may be looking into a fishpoind. Bravo to you and your friend...........

Beautiful image showing the joy of Sakura time, my favourite image to include people, very well framed, composed and sharp despite the obvious challenge..... Great image showing the importance of the time and Japanese people being together and eating, talking, socialising. I like the depth of field and the activity in the background drawing your eye into the distance. The people are the focus and the flags, lights, trees etc surround the vision......

A great inclusion in the contest and I like it a lot but sadly struggled to get into the top 10 due to too many great images. Lovely composition and framing........ Gorgeous reflection and tones, maybe even darken the vignette........

Surreal and Conceptual a lovely constructed image, a nice fantasy feel. Nice tones and clever use of the water, clever cropping and framing with a nice 3D vibe.....

Very nice inclusion to the contest, a supreme example of how b/w makes an image. The subtle tone makes it stand out and the lighting caught my eye instantly. Nice composition of the whole photo vanishing of to the left and the dark light split on the right side, the hazy blur and the heavy visible trunks, magical.

There were a few entries of these Super Trees but this one took it with its sharpness, composition and sheer amount within the image...... This is a perfect advert for one of the worlds greatest attractions. The detail is gorgeous and I really like the close framing at the edges, great positioning of trunks and inclusion of whole circle walkway. Thank you for including it in my contest, very jealous.

Garden illuminations to the extreme, this is what the contest was created to show from a simple garden at night to full blown event. Nice range of people but not too many and a nice amount of blur. Sharp image and nice inclusion of starbursts, good control of exposure and noise, with no blown highlits.........

In the description, you say 'this caught my interest', well me too I like this one for its 'interest'. Simple thing often attracts more than huge illuminations. I like the depth of field, the bokeh and really its randomness with all the assortment of items, it isnt perfect photography but it is a unique entry to the contest..... I actually set up and work on an Illuminated event at Syon Park, London and will use this idea in my installations........

If you stretch the brief into abstract or minimalist this image fits, I love it too much not to commend it, its simplicity is glorious and I can imagine it being in a garden pond. Actually looks best not too large as faults creep in, there are some missing pixels and the noise needs cleaning up. Also, there is a large black block on the right that takes my eye away...... This just missed the cut but very close........

Lovely subtle image almost minimalist, I knew this image had to have an inclusion in the top 10, I love the composition and the lone figure is genius. I can only find positives - the vanishing centre into darkness, the vertical lines on the left, the arches and even the lights above the archessuperb exposures and contrasts, there is the hint of a bech at the end so it has not been spoiled by fake darkness...... You should be proud of this one well done.
