Herbs and Spices

Very well done on achieving 5th place in my competition. I particularly like the choice of a blue background which makes the various colours of the herbs and spices pop. Your photo really stood out for me as it is such a bold, bright and colourful image. In my opinion, the detail and texture of each of the elements has been captured beautifully. Your choice of a different style of metal spoon for every herb and spice, further enhances the image for me. Thank you for entering.

First of all, many congratulations on being the 1st place winner in my competition. There were several great photos of spice stalls but your image is my personal favourite for several reasons. For me, your photo evoked a very strong sense of the sights, sounds and particularly smells, of a spice market. In my opinion, capturing the smoke rising from the spice dish really creates an atmosphere. The sparkling bokeh background further enhances the image and adds vibrancy to an otherwise dark colour palette. Very well done and thanks for entering such a great photo.

Very well done on achieving 4th place in my competition. By taking the photo from such a close position, I found it to be very striking in its detail and vibrant autumn colours. I really like your choice of framing and minimalist approach to the challenge. The sign, partly dusted by the surrounding spices, adds further interest.
