**Open to photographers with a ranking outside the top 1000. There are two other 'Hobbies' contests currently open to other ranks. Take a look at the <a href="https://www.photocrowd.com/leaderboard/">leaderboard</a> for more information on Photocrowd rankings.** Our hobbies play a large part in our personal identities and the tribes we affiliate ourselves with. Capturing a person surrounded by the paraphernalia of their hobby is a more authentic and meaningful portrait than simply a shot of their face. In this way, hobbies can be used to contextualise an image and add a unique sense of character to the subject.
