This is another photo that got my attention straight away. The lovely gold colouring attracted my eye and made me want to look closer. I think the gold paint on the air intake and the radiator head draw the eye to the bright chrome of the engine and that is repeated in other areas where the gold emphasizes the chomework and also the black of the running board. Then there are the little touches like the gold coloured dice air valve caps and the small motifs painted just above the headlights. Slight niggle about the man reflected in the door and a bit of blown highlight but otherwise a nice clean shot of a lovely car.

This shot had me in two minds right from the start, did I like it because of or in spite of the effects. The car itself is nicely presented. I like that it's been shot from a low angle, emphasizing the shape and colouring against the blue sky, but I don't think the car on it's own is particularly eye catching. I also think the photo could have been cropped tighter to the back of the car to exclude the vehicle behind as that tends to distract the eye. So on balance, I think the smoke effect and the slight vignette have enhanced the overall image. Well done

This is a lovely example of a restored and well looked after Hudson Coupe. The HDR editing has given the shot a "Painting" sort of feel and along with the colouring makes the image very noticeable when reviewing. It's unfortunate that the car on the right is also red as it takes away some of the impact from the Hudson and I found myself being distracted by both the reflected image in the door of the car and the busy scene behind it. Nonetheless it is a great image of a lovely old car

On reviewing the photographs entered into the contest this image immediately stood out for me. It's been shot in bright sunlight but has been exposed perfectly with no loss of detail or color and it's sharp from front to back. The car itself is a great example of Hot Rod building with beautiful paintwork, a superb engine and plenty of chromework. The tyre smoking has also transformed what is essentially a static shot into an action shot which adds a sense of excitement and completes the image. The driver taking a photo/video/selfie is an added bonus. Well done.

This is great example of a Hot Rod, great engine, plenty of chrome and an unusually restrained but striking paint job with the colouring echoed on the grill housing and inside the wheels. This could have been an excellent shot however it is somewhat let down by exposure and composition problems. It is under exposed to the degree that detail is lost and gives the photo an overall darkness. Also, had the camera been raised slightly we could have seen all of the car and lost the grass in front. There is also an overall lack of sharpness, although that's only really evident when viewed at higher magnification. Having said all that, I still think it's an eye catching photo and I'm really glad you entered it.

When I first saw this in amongst the other entries, I thought it looked a bit dull and lifeless. It was only when I started looking at them individually, and magnified, that I realised why. And then I questioned, is it a painting that's been photographed or a photo that's been edited to look like a painting? Originally because of the names of the traders on the stalls ( but also because I've just realised someone else has sent the same shot from a slightly different angle!) I'm now on the side of the edited photo. Either way, I like it. It's different and I could imagine a series of them in a gallery. I might have liked the car to be a bit more colourful but other than that, I think it's great.

On first seeing this photo, my immediate reaction was that it was a top ten if not top three photo even though I had reservations about the shot sloping to the right. the car itself is lovely, beautiful colour and chromework. l like that the shot has been taken from a low viewpoint and the exposure on the car is very good, especially considering the strong sunlight. The small starbursts add a nice touch too. The reason I felt I had to drop it from the top ten however is the editing in the background. I'm guessing that you used a cloning tool to try and remove people from the background but unfortunately the same persons legs are obvious in three different places and you've tried to remove people from the tent but left the tent looking like it's part of the car. I apologise if this sounds overly critical but I believe that with a bit more care this had the potential to be a winning photograph

This is a terrific example of the sort of paint jobs that can be found on bodywork these days. The attention to detail and the way the design fades away down the front forks, the engine mounts and the seat frame is beautifully done. You've then got the same colourings echoed in the piston housings and the snakeskin design is continued in the leather of the seat. For me the finishing touch that enhances the snakeskin design is the way the chromed exhaust pipes have been sculpted into snake like shapes. Great photo

This shot appealed to me on several levels. It's a good example of panning with the car nicely focused, it's well placed within the composition having plenty of room to move into and the background is clean with no distractions giving a distinct impression of speed. The thing that struck me the most about it however is the colour co-ordination! The dark brown of the car is the focal point, contrasting nicely with the beige/gold of the sand yet echoing the sand with the wheels and numbers. You've also got the silvery blue of the water echoed in the windows, on the framework underneath the car and on the door. I don't suppose this was actually intentional but I'm sure that if the car had been say, lime green the shot would not have looked as good.

I like this shot a lot, obviously I don't know what colour the car is but the B&W treatment seems to suit both the car and the rainy conditions. The raindrops add a sort of sparkle to it. I think the shot could have benefited from a much tighter crop, at about the base of the tree, removing the distracting background and focusing attention purely on the car. A slight adjustment to the exposure could have shown more detail in areas like the interior and the engine compartment, but overall a really nice shot.
