Household Objects

A high impact image that grabs the viewers attention with fine details helping to retain the impact. Complimentary colour palette throughout the image helps to bond it all together. The central composition adds to the impact and the brightness in the centre leaves the viewer in do doubt the area the photographer wants the viewer to be drawn to. Once there the details inside the bulb don't disappoint. A stunning image.

Good concept and the use of colour to control where the viewer looks is well thought out and executed. The fruit dropping into the centre cup and liquid splashing out, helps to bring the image to life. The lighting bounce to the top of the image is pulling the eye and this image may have been stronger with better lighting control in this area, or editing to reduce the brightness in that area.

Artwork created using an ordinary object, utilising a good concept, with lighting and colour. The shallow depth of field helps to create the blurring effect and the image although soft and subtle, does have a feel of movement about it. The colour choice and subtle shadowing in the image all helps to build the feel and look of the image. The placement of the object in the frame is good and makes for a strong composition, with the negative space to the right allowing the image to breathe.

A beautiful image that draws on symmetry and simplicity. Expertly constructed and the lighting is excellent. The symmetry and continuity of the forks touching is done to a high precision. The light area on the bottom forks, opposing the shadow areas on the top forks works so well. Good composition with expert lighting. Artwork from 4 forks, a great job. Evidence of dust in the image just detracts slightly, and would have been better cloned out.

A very strong concept, that creates a vision using just two items, to represent the sea and a sharks fin. It is well executed and the simplistic nature of the image is it's strength.
The sharp edges of the knives convey a feeling of danger and a need to be careful, which translates to the vision of the image perfectly. Good lighting showing good details on the steel.

A well lit image with good lighting control. The colours work beautifully with the orange and brown hues on the fruit balancing well against the blue and white bottles. The placement of the elements is critical to the balance and composition of the image, and they are placed perfectly. the selection of frosted glass bottles is a good one, which allows for plenty of light to cascade across the glass without creating distracting highlights. The supporting reflections helps to hold the image together.

A complicated image that keeps the viewer engaged. Lots of different colours and textures, with the orange powder at the centre of the image providing a subtle but natural resting place for the eye. The rest of the spoons radiate left and right from here and although the image may look random on first viewing, this arrangement is intentional and well thought through. The slate background is perfect to support the spoons and there is a harmony throughout. the shadows below the spoons is perhaps a bit heavy and some fill light in the shadow areas may have improved the overall look.

A very well put together image and the colours work well. Simplistic, elegant with expert lighting all add to this image. The decision on where to crop is good and showing only part of the reflection helps to balance the image with good composition. The subtle use of colour and the choice of colour is good, with expert lighting exposure control.

This image is loaded with nostalgia, taking the viewer back to times gone by. the rocking horse being the main element, representing a time that has well past, supported by the picture above indicating the time period the rocking horse is from. The composition is strong and the colour palette is complimentary throughout. the lighting from the side helps to add depth tot he image, and the patterned wallpaper supporting the main elements well. A lovely nostalgic image.

Novel idea and great use of colour. A strong composition, clean background and complimentary colour palette all add to this lovely image. The ability to take mundane objects and create art like this really needs to be applauded and appreciated. The white interior of the tape that is on show may have been better shading in yellow to improve the overall look.

Paper clips and elastic bands, used to great effect. The use of colour and placement of the elements makes for a strong image with lots of impact. Good composition which is easy on the eye, featuring the central ball of bands supported and encased by the paper clips. A fun image that has been put together very well. the top yellow paper clip is the only one that touches the central ball of rubber bands, and if this was moved away slightly to add a gap, it would have balanced the image more. Beautifully lit and strong vibrant colours make this piece of art pop.

A delicate image with good composition. The flower is trying to reach the light in the top right corner, and there are subtle details throughout. The light coming from the top right lights the main focal point of the image, the flower. The secondary light on the jug, appears to be quite bright and draws the eye away form the flower.

An image with plenty of impact, representing total chaos in the kitchen. The elements in the image have been placed in good positions and orientations, producing a chaotic but well balanced image. The use of the smoke and flour being picked out by the lighting supports the main elements without detracting. the use of side lighting has helped to add depth form and dimension to the image.

Ordinary household objects, transformed into a work of art. The colours and shapes in this image are beautiful. Perfectly balanced and symmetrical, this image is a joy to look at and has plenty of initial impact, which holds the viewers eye. the camera height the image has been taken at, is perfect, and allows for the shape of the top of the glasses to have a small oval shape which is just one element that adds to the depth of the image. A good concept expertly executed.
