This contest is for you best macro photos of insects. Please do not enter photos of spiders as they are not insects. Try to include as much detail of the insect as you can, and consider your composition for an interesting image.
Congratulations on the wonderful image! Composition is what set this photo apart for me. Many photographers would try to get as close as possible to the insect, and capture a close-up and extremely detailed image. While here, you have taken advantage of the leaf and added it to the frame, an excellent use of the rule of thirds. Making this a minimalistic image while also still being able to capture detail in the insect. Congratulations!

Congratulations! This images abstract composition and lighting is what (for me) makes this image so compelling. The odd gloomy lighting with contrasting warm and cold colors, creates an odd yet captivating setting. The mantis itself is almost camouflaged with the stick it is on and has a wonderful expression. Good work!
Congratulations! The level of detail is microscopic yet so well captured. The color and lighting is done extremely well, keeping a good dynamic range with not too much contrast. What really captivated me however, was the process. The odd use of double stacking lenses from 1982 shocked me, to the point where I may get myself some too. Well done!

Congratulations! This portrait of a praying mantis is for me the perfect example of less is more. The minimalistic approach of the black background contrasting with the green of the mantis is well done, keeping the mantis well lit and detailed. The mantis itself is beautifully captured, like an abstract form or some alien with an expression of intrigue. Amazing work!
