Inspiring

This image shouts "Adventure"! I love the choice of angle and lens that shows off the hiker's shoe and the beautiful landscape below. This image has mood. I can feel the exhilaration of the climb, the breathlessness of the amazing view and the feeling of success standing on the pinnacle of a challenging journey. Great work!

Wow! This landscape and cloudscape is so dramatic. The clouds roiling over the inspiring mountain peak make the viewer's heart beat a little faster anticipating the action to come. The composition is great with two thirds given to the weather. An excellent choice as it gives motion to the scene. I also love that the sun is highlighting the clear side of the mountain and the front moving in. The tones and balance between darks and lights works really well. Nice work!

This image spells determination. The rafter's hand is holding the paddle with the grip of one who knows they will overcome and thrill in the victory to come. The shutter speed captures perfectly the roughness of the water and the colours and tones a perfect balance. Excellent shot and a great choice for the contest theme. Truly inspiring!

I love this image. The colours are beautiful as well as the textures and lighting, so visually it is a joy to look at. But the addition of the subject and the story being told is what makes it exquisite. I love how the small creature is stretching across the divide to reach the other rock, overcoming the obstacle in the journey. Nice work.

This image is fantastic. I love the swirling universe above the beautiful archways. Capturing star trails in an inspiring composition is not easy even when you have a lot of experience, but this image was executed beautifully. It brings a sense of peace and wonder. I love the tones of purple and yellow and the choice of super wide lens. Very well done!

Absolutely fantastic! This image is beautiful. The colours are vibrant.. the green perfectly highlighting the blue-grey road. The composition is wonderful. I love how the road curves gracefully across the diagonal and the trees almost burst out and up on either side. This is a perfectly timed capture. It is very visually pleasing, and I always find height to be inspiring, encouraging one to "rise above" and seek new heights themselves. Great choice for the theme and excellent work!

This image is striking... everything from the subject to the rich yet subtle colours, the choice of lens and the photographer's angle, works together to make this a truly inspiring image. There is enough detail and crispness that I can see myself there, but also enough softness to give the image a dream-like quality. I love that the photographer chose a wide-angle lens to capture the landscape. In this image it brings the viewer into the landscape, breathing in the fresh air and creativity themselves. I love the tight crop that the photographer chose to capture this potter - showing the detail in the hands, the wet pottery and the tool. I also love that there are only two real colours in the image. This, combined with the gradation of tones and shadows, eliminates distracting elements and highlights the subject perfectly.
