Landscapes with a Little Something Red (in colour)

I really wasn't expecting any night-time photos in this contest, but thankfully I was persuaded by a few great images., with this one being my favourite. It has such a great atmosphere and the astrophotography is amazing. Thank you so much.

When I saw this entry image I was absolutely thrilled. It was exactly what I was hoping for, only more dramatic. Beautiful composition, clarity and colours. The red buoys seem just like the icing on the cake with their colour contrast. Congratulations for being my winner.

Wish I was there, that was the overwhelming feeling when I saw this image. So peaceful and majestic. Brilliant composition with the rules of thirds well observed. The bright red of the boat really brings the photo alive, without it, it might not have the impact.

Without the bright red roof of the church lighting up the whole composition, this could easily have been a rather dreary image. This one point of bright colour lifts the whole photo, it brings life to a grey landscape on a grey day. It's perfect.

It would be easy for your eyes to get lost in the vast scenery if it wouldn't be for the bright red cable-car. It gives the image a clear focus, that sharpens the observation and helps to concentrate. Great shot, I've got a similar one myself. I like the different light in places.
