I have to say that this was one of the funniest contests I judged; so many laughs and also much appreciation for the creativity that went into producing these photos! It was tougher than I thought it would be to pick a winner, but after much consideration, I awarded this clever image first place for several reasons. Creativity and execution of the theme was top notch. I also appreciate the detail that went into processing it. The photographer used a Lego man with the perfect expression on his face, a very important consideration for me. All in all, this photo fulfilled all the requirements of the brief and then some. What a fun composition! The photographer perfectly captured the appearance of speed in this image, so it had to take a place in my top ten. The lighting is excellent also, and minimalist background focuses all attention on the "The Flash". Congratulations on placing in the top ten and thank you for participating in my contest!

I love the "mad scientist" theme of this image! There were so many great vignettes created with Lego figures, but this one kept catching my attention. This is a well conceived composition that clearly tells a story! One can easily imagine the pumpkin overtaking the three little figures and perhaps crashing into a wall at the end of its run. I love the added detail of the third figure's hat flying off as he runs; it adds movement to the scene. All in all a delightful image full of humor and creativity! I have seen this image in at least one other contest, but I have to say I loved it the moment I saw it. The expression on the Lego man's face is perfect for the story line presented. The terrified look on the little guy's face looks comical when compared to the giant's benign smile. I also like the minimalist composition that focuses viewers on the two subjects in the story for maximal impact. The moment I saw this picture I had to laugh out loud! Comical and a bit naughty, I imagine the little guy had a hard time getting up off the floor after playing this drinking game! I like the minimalist approach to composing this image as there are no distractions to take focus off the main subjects. I am just beginning to explore the art of creating scenes using little Lego figures as my subjects. I enjoy seeing the creative images of others, and am quite inspired by their work. Whether you are new to this genre like me, or if you have done it for years, I would love to see your best work using Lego figures as your prime subject. Please note that only Lego or Duplo figures will be accepted as on brief, not any other miniature figures. Since there have been at least a couple other Lego contests within the past year, I would prefer to see new images that haven't yet been entered into a contest (though it's not a requirement). I will judge based on the quality of your photographic technique and creativity. A good sense of humor is a plus. Let me see how creative and clever you can be!
