The lighting is beautiful, highlighting the gilding, with a black background, and the shape of the uplifted pages is graceful, yet implies the contents are important. A lovely portrayal of the book. There were many, many wonderful images in this contest, however this one caught my attention multiple times. It captures the theme perfectly, showing a singular book while the entire library is the background. The focus on the book while everything else blurs, including the table reflections, keeps the composition from being overpowered with details. The book appears to be open to a page with a drawing of the same view of the library which draws the composition together.

The true magic of books is to capture the complete attention of the reader, especially in the age of smartphones. Perhaps just opening this gift, the boy's expression shows him totally engaged with the book, so that the viewer wonders of its contents. This tiny library stood out from a number of similar entries, with its background of the sea. Small sharing libraries seem to be in many communities and are in a variety of containers however someone has taken great care with this one. The side lighting of the image combined with the colorful library and the blue of the ocean in the background make for a delightful image. Congratulations on your Top 10 in Libraries and Books!
