This image is like the type of image all photographers doing long exposure photography would like to take, me especially. The bridge is central to the image and really demands attention. It is the subject with the water going under it. It fit the brief perfectly. The darker background helps to highlight the bridge a lot more too.
When you look at an image you want the viewer to stay on your subject, the bridge, and you really do in this one. I can't take my eyes off that bridge. It reminds me of something you might see from the Lord of the Rings.
Beautiful image and beautiful tones. Well done, I love it. Congratulations.
Symmetry in photography can be such a hard thing to achieve and ones like this taken with two sides can often appear boring unless there is detail in between. This image with that detail made it more interesting and added to the symmetry as well. It is a great image.
The black and white treatment helps to concentrate the viewer on the details, textures, and lines. It is all about the bridges. The light hitting the right side lets us know that it isn't one of those images that are copied from one side, a mirror image sort of thing. This is real.
It is a great image, congratulations.

When you are looking at hundreds of images for bridges, it is nice to see one that is different from the others. A night time long exposure is not something that many of us think of when it comes to long exposures. It would be so easy to use the bridge for context and make most of the image about the sky, however, I feel this image is really all about the bridge and the star trails are just background. The fisheye lens, I'm assuming that is what was used, has made the bridge fill the frame and given it a unique look. Love the look of fisheye. It certainly deserved, in my opinion, to be up there in the top 10 images. Congratulation, it is a great image.
This is a great scene and looks like a beautiful part of the world. It is a long exposure and you can see that with the water, though not very long as the clouds don't seem to be moving.
It looks very photogenic there, however, the competition was for a long exposure of a bridge, and while there is a bridge there it really isn't the focus of the image. If you had zoomed in more or got closer it may have worked better. For me, this is a beautiful image of a scene in Wales.
While this image may not fit the brief in this case it is still a stunning and well composed image.
I thought this was a fantastic image. I loved the composition and the old rustic bridge. They are bridges of fairy tales. As is the brief the image is all about the bridge and what is around it. As someone who lives in a country where we don't really experience autumn like this, it is wonderful to see the colours.
I loved this, but I had a hard time with the top half the image. It looks like it is black and white at the top and colour at the bottom. Though when you look closer you can see some colour, but I don't quite understand why the leaves are grey at the top. It is a shame otherwise it probably would have won.
Still a great image and one of my favourite. Congratulations.
When I went through all the images the first time, this was one of the ones that stuck out to me. Besides loving bridges like this and being jealous that there are none like it near me, I loved the composition. The foreground subject helped to fill the frame and make it more interesting. I'm not sure it would have worked without it. There would have been a lot of negative space with it.
The anchor at the bottom helps to bring your attention to the bridge. I guess if I had to nitpick anything it might be that I wish the anchor was pointing to the bridge and was more like a leading line. Little thing.
It is a great time and congratulations on coming in second. I loved it.

Bridges are fascinating both old and new, simple and structurally beautiful, they have been with us through the ages and many have stood the test of time. Using Long Exposure, think about how you shoot the water flow and cloud direction. Keep the human element of your image to a bare minimum, the bridge should be the star of the shot.

This is a great photo of a bridge. It is well composed and the use of the road to lead people to the bridge is really well done. However, it is not a long exposure of a bridge, which is what the brief for the competition was.
Bridges like this are incredible and I love them. I have many images like this, taken in the middle of the day when the lighting was very bright. If you can, I would suggest going back either early in the morning or late in the day, setting your camera on a tripod or solid surface, and see what you can get. Maybe even wait until the lights come on on the bridge.
There is the start of an incredible image and I would encourage you to keep taking photos of it.
We see many images of this bridge, but this is a composition that I haven't seen before. The little piers in front in the foreground are really interesting as well. They lead your eye to the bridge.
The distinct colours between the bridge and the piers is really good. If they had all been similar in colour it would have made it a very busy image.
The lighting is really nice too. It looks like a night image, then again, many think mine are when they aren't.
This a really nicely composed imaged. Congratulations.
This looks like a great area for photos. It is good when you can find somewhere great to take photos. The water looks good and it seems like a serene place to be. The reason I did choose this image is that while there is a bridge in it, the bridge isn't the focus of the image. It is cut off and I want to see more of it. From the image, it looks like a very interesting bridge.
The composition works really well in this, however, there a couple of things to be aware of with exposure. Looking through the bridge you can see where the sun has hit the trees and blown out the image. Similar has happened with the water where it is falling. Scenes like this are always hard because trying to get the right exposure for the whole image can be a nightmare. Sometimes doing different images with different exposures and then putting them all together in post can work better.
Still, you have produced a lovely image.
That is a very powerful waterfall andthere is a lot of water coming down it. However, I would deem this to be an image of a waterfall, a long exposure waterfall, but not a bridge. I can see the bridge at the top, but it is just part of the background. If this were a competition for waterfalls I'm sure it would have been right up there.
The composition really works and the person in the foreground really helps to give scale to the image. The longer exposure really helps to emphasize the amount of water there is. I think the little waterfall on the side is a nice way to fill the frame as well.
This is a great image.
