This image is the perfect example of a simple, yet visually striking, shot. I respect the photographer's choice of having the background and water being dark. This way, the brightly coloured subjects are in perfect stark contrast with their inky black surroundings. It's a simple thing that immediately sets this image apart from most other flamingo (and wildlife) shots, instantly making it more elegant, more paint-like. I adore this shot. Well done!

This image caught my attention from the moment I saw it. Curious, I immediately, scrolled to read its description. I was pleased to find a detailed one that made me feel like I was there and appreciate the image even more. It's frankly incredible to think that this image is one shot and not an editing composite. I love the use of aperture, allowing a pin-sharp focus on the subjects whilst heavily blurring the background, turning the latter in a perfect canvas wish splashes of very pretty colours. This image is definitely one of a kind and very deserving of praise. Well done!

There is a true sense of peace and calm emanating from this image; a dream-like, people-less scene where everything is still, everything is quiet. I love how the water, incredibly still itself, catches the boat reflections immaculately, like a mirror. The mist is the final cherry on the cake - very suggestive and beautifully captured, contributing to making this shot appear like a masterful watercolour painting. A fantastic image that undoubtedly deserves first place. Well done!

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 1 and 250 in this week’s Leaderboard.** Here’s a tailor-made opportunity to play with concepts of repetition, similarity/variance, order/disorder, patterns and other interesting things that emerge when you’re faced with a whole bunch of the same thing to photograph. Have some fun, interact with the subjects, move them around if that’s possible and explore different compositions. Whatever thing you’re shooting doesn’t have to be identical, but should share some common attribute that makes them essentially ‘the same’.
