This is a wonderful image, the composition is well balanced, the pose of the Sphodomantis insinuate its very gracious and curious nature, The colors of the branch supplements the colors of the mantis and the background. I feel this image could benefit by adding light in the background, this will help create more separation of the subject and create an illusion of greater depth of field

Outstanding capture, beautiful subject matter. Insects in flight are quite difficult to capture, the lack of depth of field is a difficult task to deal with specially when shooting in natural light. Is vey impressive to read that you are using manual focus for your inflight insects. have you tried using a true macro lens? you will get a greater level of detail specially when shooting at F11

This is a truly magnificent image, the subject matter and the composition makes for an extraordinary photograph. The complexity involved in lighting the candy through the liquid with out creating light reflections, as well as creating good contrast by generating and controlling the shadows, give this image a very strong DOF on a very simple focal plane. Congratulations on this wonderful capture!

Strong image, specially for a reversed 28mm, the focal plane is spot on and the post processing color tonalities are quite unique.
The flash diffuser is doing a great job. The contrast brings out good definition and aids on the depth of the overall image.

A very impressive technique for photographing subjects in flight, been able to freeze the motion of the subject is not easy even when using strobes. I feel the image would benefit from a more dynamic Background, this will help to create separation and bring DOF to the image. congratulations on this magnificent capture

Beautiful subject and great use of reflection to create a strong composition. The lighting and diffusion is very well controlled through out the image. The overall image would benefit by the use of cloning out the small dirt particles found in the water and perhaps a tighter crop to bring more emphasis on the subject.

Wonderful image, the quality of the light is extraordinary and well controlled trough out the picture, the Bokeh adds to the narrative of the image as dragonflies emerge near water. The colors and saturation are well balanced and the right amount of detail is found where needed.
